Am I Eligible to Donate Blood or Platelets?

Travel to malaria risk areas are now deferred for three months instead of one year (contact us for a list of countries).
Possible HIV exposure is now deferred for three months instead of one year.
Some extensive European travel permanent deferrals have been removed.
Men who have had sex with other men are now deferred for three months instead of one year.

Find a Blood Drive In Your Community

City of Hope's Blood Donor Center continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on our blood supply as well as that of other suppliers. There is no substitute for donated blood. During this critical time, City of Hope is requesting that if your company or organization has access to an inside location that we could use to set up blood collection, please consider contacting us to coordinate a possible inside set-up/blood drive. We are not taking our bus/bloodmobile unit into the community at this time.

During blood drives, we are following all Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines around physical distancing by maintaining 6 feet apart or more in between each donor bed, during registration and at our ‘cookie and juice station during postdonation.

Please be aware that blood collection drives are not mass gatherings and individuals are not at risk of contracting COVID-19 through the blood donation process or via a blood transfusion.
