Gulden Mesara, M.B.A., M.S.

Gulden Mesara, M.B.A., M.S., serves as the chief communications, culture and experience officer at City of Hope. Mesara leads system communications and reputation management; the work to define and deliver a single, unifying and differentiating culture for City of Hope aligned with our mission, vision and values; and the strategy for a differentiated and excellent stakeholder experience. Mesara joined City of Hope in 2020, where she most recently held the position of senior vice president and chief communications and marketing officer.
Mesara brings significant experience in building and leading diverse, high-performing, global marketing, brand and communications teams at global Fortune 100 companies, including Pfizer, Abbott and AbbVie. Before joining City of Hope, she served as the group vice president of communications for Walgreens Boots Alliance, overseeing U.S. and global communications and events.
Mesara was selected as one of the ‘Top Women in Retail’ by Mass Market Retail and as a ‘Top Women in PR’ by PRNews among other awards, she has won over the course of her 25+ year career. She serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Southern California’s Center for Public Relations, on the DE&I Advisory Group for Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, the board of the New York-based Turkish Philanthropy Funds, and on the board of SUPSAN, a privately held car parts company with operations throughout Europe.
Mesara completed her graduate studies at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, where she earned a Master of Business Administration. She also holds an M.S. in public relations from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication, Syracuse University, and a B.A. in political and administrative sciences from the University of Marmara in Istanbul, Turkey. She is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society and the Seminar.
