Sassan Farjami, M.D.
Sassan Farjami, M.D., lost his mother to multiple myeloma when he was 16 years old, an experience that shaped his life and treatment approach. He prides himself on offering personalized care, listening to his patients, providing the best treatments and being with them every step of the way as they fight cancer.
Dr. Farjami has served as a clinical associate professor of medicine at University of California Los Angeles and as chair of the Department of Medicine and teaching head for the oncology/hematology residency program at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Dr. Farjami earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College (NYMC), a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Albert Einstein School of Medicine and an oncology/hematology fellowship at NYMC. Dr. Farjami is one of very few medical oncologists in the nation with quadruple board certifications — in oncology, hematology, internal medicine and geriatric medicine.
Fluent in Farsi, Dr. Farjami enjoys reading, skiing, playing soccer and tennis, and spending time with family.
